Careers at Avenue
We read every résumé. A human does.
No keyword filters. No job-title boxes. No ghosting — send us your résumé and we will get back to you within two business days. That's not a perk; it's how an engineering firm should treat engineers.
How we hire
At Avenue we hire differently. Actually.
Principle 01
No keyword filters
Software never rejects you here. We read each résumé looking for the right people, not the perfect job-description match. If you love a good challenge and think egos have no place at the table — let's talk.
Principle 02
No boxes
We don't post every opportunity, because we don't enjoy putting people in boxes. Tell us what work you enjoy and where you want to grow — we build roles around people more often than we fill them.
Principle 03
No ghosting
Send us your résumé and we will get back to you within two business days. Applying into silence is the industry's worst habit. We don't have it.
The proof Collect a real story
[An employee's own story goes here]
One verified voice beats ten culture claims: the project they run, the manager who backs them, how their schedule actually works, and why they stayed. Collected in the employee's own words, with their name and photo — not written by marketing.
Compensation
Pay, in the open.Illustrative concept
No engineering firm in our market publishes what it pays. We think that's a tell. These are base-salary bands for the Mountain West, before bonus and profit share. If your experience says you're above the band, tell us why — we like that conversation.
| Level | Who that is | Base band |
|---|---|---|
| EIT / Designer I–II | 0–4 yrs · FE passed or CAD/design craft | $72,000 – $92,000 |
| Engineer / Designer III | 4–8 yrs · PE or approaching it | $95,000 – $125,000 |
| Senior / Project Manager | 8–15 yrs · runs projects & clients | $120,000 – $155,000 |
| Principal track | Practice builders | $150,000+ · equity conversation |
How you're placed in a band Illustrative
- Level comes from what you can own, not years alone — the band descriptions above are the rubric.
- Within-band placement weighs evidence of skill (projects delivered, licensure, specialty depth) over interview polish.
- PE license is an automatic step-up on the day it posts — it's built into the bands, not a negotiation.
- Bonus + profit share is targeted at 5–12% of base, paid annually, same formula at every level.
- Bands are reviewed every 12 months against Mountain West survey data, and the revision history stays published.
What changes after the PE Illustrative
For the licensed 8–15-year engineer, the question isn't the exam — it's authority. At Senior/PM level you sign your own work, own the client relationship on your projects, and run your team's schedule. The principal track is criteria-based, not politics-based: sustained client ownership, a practice area you grow, and a seat in the equity conversation — on either a technical or a management track.
Bands, placement rules, and post-PE terms are ILLUSTRATIVE for this prototype — the real firm's numbers are its own. The pattern (published bands + method) is the recommendation.
Licensure
The 55% problem.Illustrative concept
The PE Civil: Transportation exam just posted the steepest first-time pass-rate drop of any civil subdiscipline — ten points in one year. It is now, measurably, the hardest door in civil engineering.

So we built the Avenue PE Studio.
Getting you licensed isn't your side project. It's on the clock.

Roles come and go. Interest doesn't.
We don't post every opportunity, and postings expire — so this page never hard-codes a job list. Current openings live on our careers portal; registering your interest puts you in front of a human either way. In production, this section reads live from the ATS so an expired posting can never appear here.

Don't see your role on the portal? That's the point — we don't post every opportunity. Tell us what you're passionate about instead.
